Salvador Dalí by Andrea, Sara and Jessica

Salvador Dalí was born in May 11, 1904 in Figueres (Girona). It was a Spanish painter. He's considerate one of the greatest representatives of Surrealism.
The Surrealism is a literary, artistic and philosophical movement that borned in France in the decade of 1920. It proclaims the psychic automism, the rupture od the syntax, the violent association of incoherent imaging, the importance of the dream world, the instinct and the revolt.
Dalí moved to Madrid to study Fine Arts and then he went to París. dalí grew a flamboyant moustache that became an icon of himself. He married with a women call Gala. He died in due to heart attack in 1989.
It is also known for his personality: he was eccentric, extravagant, witty and a bit crazy.
Dalí produced around 1500 paintings. One of the most famous is the "Persistence of Memory", the famous soft watches box painted in 1931.
The largest collection of Dali's works in gathered in the Thatre-Museum in Figueres opened in 1974. It was built upon the ramains of the former Figueres Theatre.
SOME DALI'S WORK
  1. Galetea of the Spheres (1952): It is a portrait of his wife, Gala, held with spheres.
  2. Persistence of Memory (1931): It was created after observing a few pieces of Camebert exposed to the sun a hot August day.
  3. The Enigma of Desire (1919): In the picture, there is a desert landscape that resembles the Empordà plain. It is location of the house where Dalí spent his childhood.
  4. Girl in the Window (1925): It represents the artist's sister, Ana Maria, looking out of the window, back at the vacation home the family owned in Cadaquè, at the seashore.
